Wonder Man (Simon Williams) is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Stan Lee and artists Don Heck and Jack Kirby, he first appeared in The Avengers #9 (October 1964). Here are 10 Interesting Things You May Not Know About Wonder Man

Fact 1

Simon Williams debuted as Wonder Man in Avengers #9 in 1964.

Wonder Man has the power to control ionic energy. An ion is an atom or molecule that obtains a negative or positive charge by gaining or losing electrons. This means that Wonder Man’s power works on an atomic level, making him absurdly strong. When he first met The Avengers, he was as strong as Thor.

He gained his powers from an ionic ray, which was facilitated by the leader of the Masters of Evil, Baron Zemo. Although Wonder Man originally allied with Zemo, his better nature convinced him to betray the Masters of Evil. This noble deed led to the team murdering him.

Years later, Wonder Man was resurrected. However, when he came back to life, he was no longer human. Instead, Williams was a being made of pure ionic energy. However, he can manipulate his appearance so he looks human. The only thing he can’t change about his appearance is his eyes, which glow red due to his body spewing out ionic energy. He usually wears red sunglasses to hide his glowing eyes.
