Cyborg is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics . The character was created by writer Marv Wolfman and artist George Pérez and first appears in a special insert in DC Comics Presents #26 (October 1980). So below are 10 facts you need to know about Cyborg

Fact 1

Victor Stone debuted as Cyborg in DC Comics Presents #26 in 1980. The story was called New Teen Titans: Where Nightmares Begin.

His father, Silas, works at STAR Labs and commits experiments with inter-dimensional portals and advanced robotics. 

Fact 3

One day, a monster burst out of one of the portals at STAR Labs and heavily injured Vic. To save his son, Silas had to attach robotic limbs to Vic’s body. The robotics in his body make him super strong and allow him to work with almost any machine in the world. 

Fact 4

He has access to most software and hardware and can connect to the internet 24/ 7. He can see any location by hacking into satellites and effortlessly break through most electronic passwords or security codes. He can even hack Green Lantern’s ring. However, one thing he can’t hack is Batman’s database.

His father spent most of Vic’s childhood trying to find a way to save Vic’s mother. Vic didn’t understand why his father constantly neglected him, which made him grow to resent him.

Some DC writers thought Cyborg’s backstory was too complicated so they revised it and stated that Victor Stone received his cybernetic enhancements after he was injured in a car crash. Readers found this backstory too generic for a superhero and so, the writers made it so his original backstory was the official one.

Cyborg can be hacked. Hackers can take over his body and force him to attack his allies or launch weapons.

After LeTonya Charles’s body was irreparably damaged after she overdosed on the Tar drug, she was saved by the same cybernetics that turned Victor Stone into Cyborg. LeTonya took on the name, Cyborgirl.
